Arcadia Invitational Will Be California-Only Event in MayPublished by
State COVID-19 Restrictions Will Limit Meet To California Athletes By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Arcadia Invitational meet director Rich Gonzalez tweeted Wednesday that this year's meet will not be able to take out-of-state athletes this year due to state restrictions related to the pandemic. The announcement isn't surprising. Already, states that typically send teams to Arcadia — Arizona, Nevada and Colorado — have placed restrictions on students leaving the state to compete. After being canceled altogether in 2020, this year's Arcadia Invitational remains a high-quality opportunity for California athletes who have had few outlets in the past 13 months. The meet is scheduled for May 7-8.
